Who we are…
Waxwing Events is owned and lead by Chrissie Rowell, BA (Hons), MSc.
Born in Nottingham and now based in Derbyshire, Chrissie brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge from seventeen years of experience as a Creative Director in event management, marketing and PR. She has a fierce attention to detail and leads a team of event executives to make every part of your event run like clockwork, with every aspect executed to plan, leaving you and your guests to concentrate on one thing - having a great time.
You can rest assured that we only work with suppliers and assistants who have been vetted for their experience and professionalism, not to mention their credentials, insurance and suitable terms and conditions, meaning there will be no shocks or disappointments on day itself. We arrange contingencies, troubleshoot and iron out problems quickly and efficiently, all without you even breaking a sweat.

I absolutely love attending a good, well executed event and after I planned my own wedding (OK, both of them!) I decided it was something I wanted to do for others. Most people I know hated organisating their wedding - I loved it! It’s such a rewarding experience.

A killer eye for detail, a charming personality and a slightly obsessive nature helps. Being able to envisage how something will come together before it has, is not a skill everyone has!

It would have to be Italy. My family and I go there on holiday as often as possible, it’s just such a gorgeous, romantic country oozing culture and history. No-one does rustic chic like the Italians! If we renew our vows, I’d love to do it in Italy.

I love reading, gardening, spending time with my two children and I confess when I’m not working hard, I am a bit of a couch potato - I love a TV binge!

I could take all the credit for this, but my son who loves birds, came up with it, along with many other avian possibilities! I love it because Waxwings are very sociable birds, often found in large, noisy groups and they’re often tipsy because they feed on fermented berries. Perfect life, I’d say!
